"Nat's Wish" is about abandonment and the longing to regain what one once had.
Short film I produced in 2008 in 10 weeks pretty much solo (pulling my hair out at the last week) with the help of a friend for voice and the input from the class. Since then my character animation and drawing capacity has gotten greater, but I still feel like this is one of my most worthwhile works.
The pre-production was unusual as the script was actually a poem instead of a standard script.
Mostly animated in Photoshop and composited in After Effects. Snow effects a mix of After Effect's and Apple Motion. Many of the backgrounds are CGI. All sound is original for this project.
"Nat's Wish" was compared to mannerist art by film maker and RIT professor Skip Battaglia due to my emphasis on technique and my almost excessive use of off-screen story/lack of clear perspective.
@03:28This short film is simply amazing. I loved the fluid animation and 3D effects. Not only that, but the animation itself seems to have a life of its own. This is award-worthy stuff you have here. Also, can I ask you for a favor?
